Revision is a process. Some writers love it, others dread it, but every working writer knows they have to do it. With the right tools (yes, a pair of scissors) and a flair for risk (just a little) a writer can make the revision process new and rewarding. This workshop focuses on revising your story to explore meaning and content, and does not address copyediting for spelling and grammar.
This three-hour workshop will involve joyous hands-on destruction and recreation of your own written work, as well as generative writing prompts and discussion. Five to ten single-sided printed manuscript pages are required.
Workshop participants will:
a) gain insight into their story’s strengths
b) identity transformative opportunities
c) explore structure’s relationship to narrative tension
d) develop confidence in story revision
Open to fiction and nonfiction prose writers of all levels.
Class Limit is 20.
