How to Write a Mystery
Instructor: David Fulmer
Learn the essential components of the craft of mystery writing, including settings, dialogue, character development, and plot structure. Class exercises and take-home assignments will sharpen your skills toward crafting compelling stories in the unique structure of the mystery genre. Discussions of pitching to mystery markets will also be included.
Class limit is 12 students.
Biography: David Fulmer is the award-winning author of 11 novels, eight of them mysteries. His novels have been selected for numerous “Best of” lists, including New York Magazine’s “Best Novels You’ve Never Read” and Atlanta Magazine’s “Best of the Shelf,” and have received superlative reviews from, among others, The New York Times, USA Today, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Washington Post, The Times Picayune, The Boston Globe, Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly, and The Christian Science Monitor. Eclipse Alley, the sixth mystery in his acclaimed Storyville series, will be released in October by Crescent City Books.
